1925 stone mtn. comm.

i just bought a 1925 stone mtn. comm. before bidding i looked at the coin (raw) and based on the pics. i thought it was at least ms-60 showing a value of $77.00 all told i paid $54.99. i know you can"t really nail a number but do you think i am ok? au-50 shows $70.00. i plan to keep it either way. thanks

If it grades AU, and you want it for your collection, you did just fine. It's a nice comm. and a very collectible coin.

Numismatics is a diverse field. We certainly don't take offense to being interested multiple areas of the hobby! :)

You can "jump" around all you want, I do the same thing. I love your questions, because I know it helps you expand your collection. I will always answer with honesty, we all don't always get the best deals. I know I don't.

I jump around quite a bit too. Right now I'm interested in uncirculated silver world coins, and who knows what will be next! That's the best part of being a numismatist. You can completely change your collection and still be called a numismatist.

By the way, the Stone Mountain is a beautiful commemorative. Be careful, though, because I've seen a lot of these that have been cleaned for some reason.
