Can anyone identify this coin?

#1 Unread post by sheepscrossing »

I received this coin as a bonus when I bought a coin on eBay and I have no idea what it is. I emailed the sender a question about it and he/she never answered me - probably didn't know what it was either. It measures about 24 MM (a little bigger than a Jeff nickel), weighs 2.1 grams and appears to made from aluminium.

I think this is the obverse:

and this is the reverse (I think):

Any help would be greatly appreciated. - Duane

It looks like a coin from Israel. I have a few with the same shape, and that should help you to identify it.

Thanks - I checked my 2000 World Coins book and couldn't find it. I'll try to borrow a more current book and check there.

A coin club friend of mine was able to identify it - here's his answer:

It is a 10 poisha from Bangladesh KM# 7. Looks like 1974 to me.
