Where to start with collecting foreign coins?

#1 Unread post by Collectingfiend »

So I really love collecting U.S. Coinage and I am thinking about branching out because I mostly collect coins for their history and to learn a little bit about the date and the era that they were minted. I am starting to get into PCGS coinage and am having fun collecting them. I have two coins that are PCGS graded one is the 1932s washington quarter and the other is a 1964 half dollar. I have a binder full of almost 20 pages worth of coins ranging from 1800's all the way up to 1990's.

My question is: Where would I start looking in terms of where to buy foreign coins on ebay? My main interests deal with germany, the romans, spanish, and france coinage. I would really like to buy from reputable dealers and do not wish to get scammed. Is there any websites that you guys recommend that are reputable for producing authentic foreign coins? Many coin shops around my area specifically deal with U.S. coinage.

Here's a thread I started for sellers I have dealt with and recommend http://coinauctionshelp.com/TPGS_FORUM/ ... =11&t=3929

I haven't added all of them, but these are good sellers. I am not sure about their World Coin inventory, but if I can think of it, I will post one seller that specializes in German Coins and he's good.
