Thanks! I just received it in the mail and I had to share it with someone lol. I had asked the group about buying a Crown a few days ago and was told that I should shop around and get something certified. Boy, am I glad I waited! I used the PCGS Cert app to verify the authenticity before ordering and I’m absolutely thrilled

That’s a beautiful coin! Thank you for sharing. When you think of the people who’ve handled these coins and what a coin like that would of meant to an average Joe in the 1890’s, it truly boggles the mind. They truly are miniature works of art that we have the good fortune to acquire and appreciate.

The coin is fine. It is just interesting that the obverse and reverse denticles are different.

("denticles are the the 'up/down .. in/out' pattern just inside the rim)

Oh, no worries at all! I did some research using the ole Google machine and found out about denticles. I was scared to death that you were saying something appeared fishy and I was kind of freaking out
Re: 1898 Great Britain Crown PCGS AU53
But now I know a little about denticles! Amazing how a little fear will prod you into doing some more studying.
