1917 Martin Luther Brinze Reformation Bronze Medal

#1 Unread post by Daniel »

1917 bronze medal commemorating the 400 year anniversary of the Reformation. On obverse is Martin Luther bust with quote “Ein feste burg ist unser Gott” around the top, which is German for “A mighty fortress is our God.”

On the reverse is a picture of Martin Luther Hanging his Reforms on the Church door and around the edges it says Quadricentennial of the Reformation along with the dates 1517 and 1917 on either side of the pictures. The medal is about 2 ¾ inches in diameter.

The value of the 1917 Reformation medal is $25 and up and depends on their condition since many are cleaned and damaged with marks and dings.

They look gorgeous when they have lots of depth and patina to them.
