1. Post a front and back image of your coin with a specific question about what you’re seeing or asking about and one coin per topic.
2. Please remove coin from the holder unless it’s US or an official mint case or unless it is graded by a grading service.
3. Images should be taken by a camera or cell phone camera, we ask that members don’t use images through a microscope screen.
4. Always start your own topic, please don’t ask about your coin or post your coin in someone else’s coin topic.
5. Do not send private messages about your coin unless an Admin ask you too and the same for sending emails through the board.
6. No spam. Do not post any links to your coin or other non-coin websites.
7. Always be respectful even if something makes you upset or you don’t agree with a member. You can always get a second opinion elsewhere. If you have an issue then politely ask an admin in an PM. PM’s are for issues, technical and personal, but not for coin questions (refer to number 5 on this list). I am reaching out to members for help
I researched these two coins and I am just not certain of their authenticity. The one (silver) is C #11 SHU (Isshu Gin) 1829-37 from the Bunsei, and it weighs 2.600g so this one might be good.
It's the (gold and silver) one I am most concerned about. It should be the C #21a 2 BU (NIBU) 1828-32 from the Bunsei Era, but it weighs 2.100g and that's less than it should weigh considering it's the same size and supposed to have gold. I am hoping that I am wrong on my identification, but if not then it's a fake.
So if anyone has any information I would appreciate it.

Re: I am reaching out to members for help
I've rotated the picture halves to align with the registered version I found.
The area circled on the reverse (left image) indicates this is a Bunsei era. If a Ni Bu, it should weigh 6.56g, (3.21g gold) 23mm on longest side.
(There are also gold Nishu and Ichibu, which are smaller. But, I didn't find one quickly with that symbol in the corner.) I believe on the obverse mid-section of your coin (right image), there is only one horizontal line. That iindicates "Ichibu" (一分). A "Nibu" (二分) has two lines. See circle on example.
The silver coin appears to be authentic. 2.63g, 10.2mm on side.
It all comes down to dimensions, weight and the marking in the top right corner of the reverse. The area circled on the reverse (left image) indicates this is a Bunsei era. If a Ni Bu, it should weigh 6.56g, (3.21g gold) 23mm on longest side.

Okay, I found an example of your coin's imaging...
Bunsei era - Ichibu Nan-kin (JNDA 09-38)
1819-1829 AD Unfortunately, I'm still coming up with 3.25g.

Thanks. I just ran out of time to research this, then lost interest until now. The "gold" version must be fake.

I understand Paul. I have the books but I spent hours on these and some other coins I bought and it gives me a headache. I just don't like world coins unless it's England or Canada or German.

m,
your most likely right!
all of the page bottoms with the numbers have crumbled away over time, so i had to 'hand count' the number of pages.
i must have mis-counted.

So what's the going rate for a fake Ichi Bu Nan Kin?
whistling2:
Actually, what are you looking to get for the pair?

I usually don't sell the fakes I find but to you it would just be included for free if you bought the SHU and your money back if you find out it's fake as well.
