I've had this one silver coin since I was just a wee girl. I actually found it somewhere around my house! I wish I can remember where exactly I found it (in the couch? On the floor? In the dirt?), but it's been too long for my short attention span! Anyway, I didn't think much of it when I was a kid and quickly forgot about until earlier this year when I was going through some things and found it all over again and I was like "heyyyyyyy, this is pretty cool! Forgot I had this!" I'm really glad I hung on to it when I was young rather than foolishly spend it at face value. Has anyone else had a moment like this?

Yes. I have had a couple moments like this but I have known coin values all my life. However, I have had this happen with books and toys I found that I forgot about.

Yeah, I've found a few things like that....just forgot I had them and then glad I did or they may have been sold long ago.

Yup my very first wheat pennies that I got as a boy. When I was maybe 9 my dad took me to an auction and in one of the boxes was an old coin album for wheat pennies. I thought it was really cool. It had a few coins in it and was in a box with some other stuff. I think we got the box for around $5. I forgot about it until about 2 years ago when I started collecting again.
