I'm going with EF45 and close to AU.

I would have to say VF 35. I just don't think it's clean enough to call it XF. Either way it's a nice coin.

One aspect of coin pictures is light reflection, and although it difficult at best to grade pictures, I can see more detail than a VF will allow but the lighting has obscured some of the details. You have to look very closely, and you can see more feathers and gown details.

I could be wrong, and this is where grading really is an opinion from me.

Yes. I was aware of that. On a second look, I can see XF DETAILS. It's a nice coin either way. As a note I grade every one of my coins, and those online by ACG grading standards. That would possibly account for a slight difference.

It never hurts to under-grade, but if I over-grade then it's on me. So, I don't think you where far off on the grade. PCGS is conservative and look where it got them.

I would say (if sent to PCGS) Genuine (Cleaned) with VF details.

I agree. They are A BIT TOO CONSERVATIVE some of the time. And if you sent it to SGS what would it be  ?

Although, the coin could be cleaned I just don't see that in the pictures. I can see PCGS grading the coin VF, but ANA standards allow for an EF grade considering the details. Maybe a different picture is in order?
