Well it's been awhile since I've gotten out, but during a club hunt at an old church I pulled this beauty out.
I was completely shocked when I found it since nobody else had found anything old so far. See I had shown up late and everybody had already moved in on all the more promising areas , an old ballfield, so I was left with right next to the church where it looked like a septic tank had been put in not to long before and I was told the ground had been disturbed. By the end of the hunt only one other member found any old coins, which was a wheatie. It just goes to show you that you never know where you might find those old coins. I considered myself in the least productive spot when comparing it to the old baseball field, but I have a nice 1917 buffalo to show for it. :l

Thanks. As far as I can tell it doesn't. The reverse is just in a little worse condition than the obverse. I strain my eyes and even used a loupe, but I don't see a mint mark.Daniel wrote:Does it have a mint mark? Nice find by the way.

Alright, but still a good find for metal detecting. I hope to get out soon!
