Interesting new place to try

#1 Unread post by Nolifeking »

I can't believe I didn't think of this myself, but while at my grandma's for easter my uncle mention an awesome place to look for old coins. If you can find an old house with a porch look under the crawl space of the porch! :l He told me that kids LOVED to play under these and with any luck while under there they lost some nice wheaties and I.H. :D The apartment I live in now has a huge screen in porch and I got super excited to check under it until I got home and remember that there are cement blocks surrounding it. So no kiddies got under that porch :l Just thought I'd pass the info on in case somebody has better luck than me and can MD such a place. Good luck all you treasure hunters!

NLK!

A friend of mine got silver reading from under our porch, so I hope to eventually search there, but bricks and concrete impede my way.

Well wait until your wife isn't around and show the bricks and concrete who's boss. I'd suggest a sledge hammer  If you find a big jar of silver coins I'm sure your wife wouldn't be to upset :l

I'm lucky, my wife wouldn't care, as long as I repair the damage :D

Interesting idea! I once found a 'hoard' of coins in the backyard of a house I used to live in. Unfortunately, it wasn't a hoard of silver coins, but rather a hoard of about 50 modern Lincoln cents!

Well beggars can't be choosers :D I wouldn't be too upset to find a ton of coins like that. Still really cool and makes a clad counter go up really fast! :l There is a guy I know that burried a jar of wheat pennies when he was a kid, but I can't remember where he said that he buried it. He won't remind me either
