Still finding some good stuff

#1 Unread post by Nolifeking »

Well I've still been finding some nice coins and relics at my apartment. I decided to go out again yesterday after a nice rain to see what I could find. Here's some of the better stuff that I found a few older coins and some nice relics. As for coins there is two 1937D wheat pennies and 2 nickels. A 1912 V nickel and a 1935 buffalo nickel.

About time Daniel! :l Get out there and find some treasure!!!

I found out a little more information on a couple of the items yesterday from my grandpa and uncle. The little gun apparently was either out of an old gumball machine or was a prize in a cracker jack box. As the the square button my grandpa told me he never wore anything like that when he was a kid. He told me they were used early 1900's late 1800's. I can't wait to find some more! I do need to start checking out some more places though. :l There are tons of old houses where I live that were turned into small businesses. I have a feeling they will make great places to ask for permission to hunt since more of them have the business name and contact number on a sign outside the building. :bouncing: They're just making my job easier.

Picture number 5 from the top looks like the plate from a National cash register! I love that cross and the little pistol. When you dig pocket knives, make sure to check for ivory grips. A good ivory grip can sell for $10-$15 on an otherwise rusted out knife. The grip in the photograph looks like some type of synthetic, but I wouldn't be surprised if you could dig one made from real ivory.

Thanks I'll have to keep that in mind! I just thought it was super cool! :l I'm thinking about giving the yard a rest for a couple weeks and focus on getting some nice finds at some other places in the area. I have lotsa research and asking to do! I'll let you guys know when I find something good again. :bouncing:
