Signal Pinpointing Improvements

#1 Unread post by Nolifeking »

My girlsfriends dad told me about this one after seeing a video on youtube demonstrating it. We can't find the link anymore otherwise I'd just put that here now. Instead I will try my best to explain it. The downside to this technique is that it doesn't work with all pinpointers my bullseye 2 included. The models that I know it works on is the older style bullseye 1 and believe it or not on the cen tech pinpointer. This explanation will demonstrate how to perform this with the bullseye one and the cen tech. I'm not familar with any other pinpointers, but it very well may work for more than these two. You will just have to experiment :D First off if the pinpointer has a sensitivity knob (cen tech) start off by adjusting it. First turn on the unit by holding in the on button and then turn the sensitivity knob until the unit beeps. Then back off on the sensitivity knob just a tiny bit so the unit stops beeping. This will all be done just in the air not anywhere near metal objects. Now still sticking with the cen tech model you take a nickel (could be any coin) and while hold in the on button like before slide the nickel flat against the rod towards the tip. Same trick as before slide the nickel forward until the unit beeps then back it off until it stops. Now while holding it in the same spot that the unit stopped beeping put a coin in front of the tip while the unit is on. It's magic now the pinpointer can read the coin from farther away!!! When testing this for the bullseye 1 it made it double in range. I'm still experimenting with the cen tech one that I bought, but so far its getting pretty close to doubling. The bullseye one would involve the exact same process except skipping the sensitivity knob step sinc the bullseye 1 doesn't have one. I hope this will come in handy and if any of you guys get a pinpointer. Any questions let me know and I can try to explain the process better.

One thing that I notice about it is that is you are really careful and slide the coin back so that the pinpointer is kind of crackling in and out out beeping then you put a coin closer it will detect it from a lot longer range away.
