Coin finds from 2009

#1 Unread post by Nolifeking »

Thanks so much for adding this section to the forum Daniel. :yourock: In the past year I upgraded my metal detector and really hit it hard all summer. Here are some of my more prominent finds. 1895, 1901, 1902 I.H., 1918 wheat penny, 1920 buffalo nickel, 1916 mercury dime, and a 1946 Roosevelt dime. The 1916 mercury dime I believe is a S mint mark. The condition of the coin is extremely worn and it's almost impossible to tell for sure. I was excited that it might be a D, but I'm leaning more towards S. The only thing I know for sure about it is that it definitely has a mint mark.

Great finds! Could you take a closeup of the dime's mint mark?

I'm going to wait on taking a picture of that mint mark. I bought a microscope/camera recently and I'm just waiting for it to come in the mail. I think I could get a much better picture of the mint mark with that. I'll post a picture of it as soon as I can.
