Keep in mind, there are many close-up details we cannot see in your photo and it's in a plastic holder. I'd give it an XF -> low AU. eBay has listings putting that at $1000-$1200, if encapsulated.

It would cost some buck to get it graded, but that grade makes it: #1 - Genuine, #2 - removes most doubt as to whether it has "hidden" problems

It looks like a nice coin! I'd at least send it to ANACs.

I agree with mhonzell, this coin is valuable enough (and faked enough) that having it slabbed (ANACS makes most sense for this) will ensure its authenticity and that you get good value for it if you try to sell it.

I think ANACS is fine but value wise it should be PCGS but chose your poison here. The image is over-exposed but I don't see enough details to say better than VF, but the reverse does look high in grade.

It has to be authenticated first and foremost.

The guys are all correct. It would bring the most $ in a PCGS holder. But, they are a hassle to deal with, you must "join" their club to have it graded. ANACS would do it cheaper and there would be little doubt about authenticity. As for grade, the coin looks high VF to me, maybe XF. i would have to see the actual color of the coin in person. A lot of high end pennies get cleaned and or recolored. Even if it were, it would come back genuine/ details from your grading service. It needs to be in a holder!

ANACS will charge $29 plus shipping for 5 day turnaround or $19 for a 15 day(or longer) turnaround for economy service plus shipping. It is far and away the least expensive road for a single coin. Where did you get that penny? They are hard to find unless you go on the internet.
