Most Popular U.S. Coin Series to Potentially Sell in an Antique Booth
Hi...I'm a coin collector and recently retired. On the side, I sell vintage toys and radio & TV memorabilia in an antique booth and occasionally at flea markets. I would like to start selling some coins in the booth as well, and wanted input and recommendations on which U.S. coin series are most popular/sell best to collectors at antique malls and flea markets. My plan is to focus on Lincoln cents, Buffalo nickels, Mercury dimes and Morgan & Peace dollars. I also plan on having a tray or two of type coins.
Security wise, my booth has four large, locked upright showcases and is located adjacent to and 20 feet from the front counter with line of sight by the clerks to the showcases. The mall has infrared, motion and breaking glass sensors in the immediate area. I don't plan on placing overly expensive coins in the booth, so I believe sufficient security is present to safely sell the coins. At flea markets, I will sell out of locked cases cabled to the table. Only one item removed at a time from the cases for examination.
Thanks in advance for any input, recommendations or advice offered.

I am no expert here by any means.....

Silver Eagles, Morgan and Peace Dollars, Franklin and Barber Half Dollars and anything Trump related sells in our booth. Proof and mint sets sometimes but they tend to take up space. Each area is different. For instance we don't have much luck with type coins but you might.

Thanks for the input, Paul. Morgan and Peace Dollars are the top two coin series I have started to sell. Morgans are moving well...Peace Dollars, which I personally like more, are selling but not as briskly as the Morgans.

Re: Most Popular U.S. Coin Series to Potentially Sell in an Antique Booth
I've put ASE, Morgan and Peace Dollars in the booth. I'm surprised that Franklin and Barber Halves sell well but will try them out. I have some uncirculated Franklins and some well worn Barbers I can price and mark. I'd try Trump related coins but I neither have any nor see them to buy. If I can find proof and mint sets at a substantial discount I'll also give them a shot. When I had an antique booth years ago I would sell type coins by placing them adjacent to other items to provide context. For example, I sold some type coins from the 1830s to 1860s buy placing them with Civil War books and artifacts. Did the same with 1940s coins...placed them with WWII books and artifacts. I'll try this again in my new booth.Daniel wrote: ↑Fri May 29, 2020 6:10 am Silver Eagles, Morgan and Peace Dollars, Franklin and Barber Half Dollars and anything Trump related sells in our booth. Thanks again for your assistance.

Anything silver seems to be doing well except graded Morgans in my booth, but on my website they sell like crazy.

OK...got it! Focus on big silver and then try other coins and see what sells. Will let you know in a couple of weeks how things go.
