What does this mean.

#1 Unread post by DSCoins »

I have seen people use K + a number used to describe places/things on a coin. Matter of fact I even found one written down on a flip I had a nickel in, and had no clue as to why I wrote it. So my question is what does the K mean?

Thanks

:eureka:
The"K" before a number, indicates the position on the coin, with a reference to a clock face...

For example:
A "K3 Obverse", would indicate to look at the due East on the front of the coin
A "K6 Reverse", would indicate to look at the due South on the back of the coin
