What going on two 1988 in same box?

#1 Unread post by DSCoins »

OK, I really don't understand if it is me or is it a 1988 Wide AM? I have done everything I can think of to make sure the penny involved is a 1988 and on the reverse it is a Wide AM. The only thing that does not match up is the font on FG. Now I am a lot more confused then before. If I look back at the 1983, 1984 and 1986 I have they have the wide AM with the same font on the initials that I have on the 1988 I have. I have doubled checked it and triple checked against PCSG listing of the 1988 Wide AM and of course the initials do not match. So does mean the one I have is not a Wide AM? Enough of this before I confuse myself even more. Let me post the photos.

The initials must match since it's struck with the 89 reverse die.

I realize that now. Before I went to bed last night, I remembered that you had talked about it on your YouTube channel, so I did a search and found out what you just typed. Although it was to late by then to do anything about the post. It refreshed my memory, and hopefully it won't happen again (some days your the windshield and sometimes your the bug).

Thanks Daniel, for your reminder here and for your YouTube channel, which let me actually see the differences
