2012 ASE Rev DD

#1 Unread post by budung » Wed Nov 14, 2018 4:16 pm

It has been two years plus since my last post. I am no longer collecting since I lost 95% of my collection. Anyway, I recently bought two American Silver Eagle at a Thrift Mart more for its intrinsic value and having nothing to do I decided to take a closer look with the microscope I won in this forum. I believe the coin is like MS67-68. Here are the results. Opps sorry for those inverted pics.

this sure hugeeyes 's like 'minor die doubling' in your images,.....

:eureka:
i show 3 ASE's listed as DD's currently:
'89S
'92S
& the 2011

yours is NOT considered as "MAJOR DOUBLING", but doubled none the less.......
 :greatfind:

Welcome back and sorry about you losing most of your collection. Nice DD. Could be a discovery coin.

Also, can't be certain just looking at images but this could be machine doubling as well. I have looked them over a couple times and hard to be sure IMO.

Hello guys. I had the coin attributed by Mr J. Wexler and the result is that it is some kind of machine doubling. I am relaying the results so other members can study my photos and learn more about double dies.
Daniel was right after all that it may be a machine doubling.

It looked promising but without notching where the two details join, that is usually the outcome.
