wheat penny stamped "LES"

#1 Unread post by Rumple » Thu Oct 18, 2018 9:39 pm

Can anyone guess what this acronym: LES, might mean? It was found on a 1930 S wheat penny. I looked up an anronym website with 52 suggestions. Lower East Side was one.
Thanks for any help.

Could have been a person's initials, there's no way to know for certain with uncommon acronyms.

The same thing crossed my mind as Daniel and Paul.
An image might help put it in some kind of context for us, but a persons initials seem the most likely.
