in the effort to actually "LEARN SOMETHING",.....

with the exception of D, M, & C,......
can anyone tell me why the "DATE" here hugeeyes's 'funny' ??

The last two digits where hand punched into to the die so there's often variations on the date orientation which created Newcom varieties. Also there's date size varieties and this is a Small Wide Date and then there's the Large Wide Date.

now, ... if we hugeeyes at D's example for the "date variances" shown here, in the first example, we can see the 'final 2' digits punched in,.... & in the second date example, we see the 'final 3' digits added ....
