1736 Seal of the City of Norfolk

#1 Unread post by Jduval »

Hello,
I have a coin dated 1736. I have been researching but can only find info on the 1936 bicentennial.
Curious if anyone knows about or has seen this before?.
Thank.

The Seal was adopted by the city in 1913. The official seal states "City of Norfolk Virginia", vice "Seal of the City of Norfolk". This may have been a tourist souvenir.
