Sorry, but absolutely no help to you on this one. That would be real helpful information but I would think it would vary somewhat by composition of a coin in a series. Copper vs. Zincolns, Jefferson nickel vs. silver and so forth.
I have seen a post in the last month or so on a forum (LCF?) where someone was talking about approx. coins per die, trying to calculate how many coins might have been minted for a particular variety. But I'm not sure where they obtained their info.

Do you mean like Morgan Dollar dies struck an average of 100,000 coins before being retired?

I can't imagine this would be anything other than simple averages.
Today, the US Mint changes out dies every six hours while making 12 coins per second. The bins are inspected about every 15 minutes and if an error is found, the entire bin and dies are destroyed.

Going back to the other end, dies made as few as 23,000 coins and dies were mixed up as long as they produced a readable coin. I think the 1793 cent had something like 40+ die marriages.

If it exists, it was hand-made. Those kind of records are kept in the Federal Archives, Group 104, Section 3.3. That covers everything for 1792-1994. Not sure about since 1994.

I find producing coins at this pace amazing and awe inspiring (Think about it: 720 per minute !!!!.) I thought I was reading the mint's information wrong one time when doing some research. So when a collar, anvil or hammer die breaks there must be a fairly large quantity of errors produced at this rate ,which must be why the whole bin is destroyed. The mint would run out of employees if they had to pick them out individually!!! lol:
