As you know, hyper-inflation hits some of the old countries on occasion and then there is a re-evaluation of the money system to "correct" the problem. On July 1, 2016, Belarus is not only re-valuing their money by changing out all the bank notes and coins, but they are also changing their monetary system.
If you own any coins or bills dated 2000, then for the next six months they can be traded for 2009 money at a rate of 10,000 old rubles to one new ruble. The coins will now come in denominations of 1, 2, 5, 10, 20 and 50 Kopecs and the highest coins will be 1 and 2 Rubles.
Why am I bringing this up?
Because, I am collecting a set of coins from Belarus. Each year since 2012, Belarus has issued a commemorative coin celebrating the Chinese calendar and each coin was marked as 20 Rubles. So, I'm wondering what the country will do to complete this set of coins?
(The coins up to this point were marked as 20 Rubles, based on the 2009 Ruble and cost ~700,000 old rubles.)
Will my new coins now be marked as Kopecks? Or, will it be Rubles?
How will this impact the value of the set having a change in monetary units in the middle of the set?
Can't wait to see what they produce this October...

Re: Belarus Rubles
