I've been watching these coins for some time... (10 years) And, it was finally time to go in for one. (Mostly because I got it for 'spot' price.)
A beautiful coin Mr. Fraser.

1. Post a front and back image of your coin with a specific question about what you’re seeing or asking about and one coin per topic.
2. Please remove coin from the holder unless it’s US or an official mint case or unless it is graded by a grading service.
3. Images should be taken by a camera or cell phone camera, we ask that members don’t use images through a microscope screen.

Bought 4 proofs from the mint in 2006. Love the beauty! By the way, they were $800 each. Even prettier than the beloved nickel.

I agree! And, I'm jealous about the price you paid. Of course, in 10 years, mine may have doubled in price, as well. widegrindipper13 wrote:Even prettier than the beloved nickel.
Mine is not a proof, but it's encapsulated to keep the scratches away.

Thanks! I try hard to get a good photo. I compare some of today's photos to what I took a year ago and can't believe I was posting those other ones. I'm also getting an adapter from AmScope to connect my camera directly to the microscope. That should be interesting.PALH1 wrote:M, your images have become incredible

Had them encapsulated, 2 from NGC, both 69s and 2 from ANACS, a,68 and a 70.I sold the 68 and bought a mint state, became an NGC ms 70. I still have four of them, three proofs and the ms. I wanted to buy more in 06 but got cold feet. You never know....
