1912 Eagles Fan

It's in and it's gold! Woohoo!

The holder is the new PCGS type, so it doesn't fit in the slab case unless canted diagonally one slot. Has the new QR code on the back, matches the bar code and cert numbers on the front. New type of hologram. The slabs are thicker, but still stack with the old type of slabs. RF weld spots are gone as it is all on the edge.

They did not send me the serial number shown in the listing (stock photos?), but... I'm glad. This one looks better.
Still can't photo gold very well, but here you go. I don't think I purchased well on the $5 piece, so I may replace it in the future.

Congratulations on the "good" gold St. G. as well as the rest of the set.
What kind of doubling is going on with the reverse of the "fiver"?

The $2.5 and $5 are incuse designs. (I believe they are the only incuse designed coins for the US.) Blow up the pictures and you will see it on both sides of both coins.

(Did you get the pun? 1912 Philadelphia Eagles.)

Glad it worked out, but do look for an Omega symbol just in case.

Good point! I haven't hear of that in quite a while.
The Omega Man produced high quality counterfeit U.S. gold coins such as the 1907 high relief $20 Saint-Gaudens double eagle, $10 gold eagles and numerous $3 gold coins including the dates 1874, 1878 and 1882, with the 1882 being the most common.

Worth checking out when I get home.
