Daniel, where do you see a certification number ? The other thing that bothers me is why they are selling on eBay instead of a coin auction...that's a little strange too.

Grease filled dies are pretty common and since they are not a defect in the die, every one could be considered unique. Not sure about pricing, but I save a few for examples and the rest I give away.

Re: 1946 S 1C Inverted Mintmark

I guess the important thing to remember here is that a variety is produced by a die. When it has a MM, the placement of that MM will be exactly the same from coin to coin. Yes, there is the possibility of more than one die being produced with an OMM, but in this case, there is only one known die. As ...

Re: 1988 overpolished? Transitonal error, DDR

Yes, you can send directly to ANACS..but sending to Wexler is the safest bet as these are only bringing around $35 right now. If they make it into the CPG, that would change. Wexler will also attribute the die number which is a plus. Keep in mind that I am not saying this is an RDV-006 so Wexler can...

Actually, die markers can be missing on different die states. The MM location is a good indicator but the OP's pics should be oriented correctly to make a good match. It does appear to have extra thickness on IGTW...but pics are a little fuzzy to say for sure.

I like this coin because it is a reminder that true Americans will put their lives on the line for freedom. Highly doubt they would be worth as much as the cost of slabbing. You might check out eBay and see what prices were realized and if you have any that grade high enough to justify the slabbing costs. But, as Daniel said...it really depends on why you want to slab in the first place.

Depends on what you want to do with it Mike.If you want to sell, you definitely need the die number for collectors of that series. I'm thinking it should be about $175 to $225 as far as value. ANACS is the only choice for TPG's right now. However, if it gets listed in the next CPG, value would go up ...
