Although many disagree, if you do "ANYTHING" to a coin, from its 'natural as found' state, ......you have altered the coins surface.

This is exactly how the TPG's see it.

Keep in mind that "VAM's" are a die pair numbering system,...... This DOES NOT automatically make them a collectible variety/error.
