Very good post. Would a grading company attribute this coin as such based on how worn it is though?

Re: 2012 Hawaii volcanos very light

Is this possibly just the new quarter design? I know the earlier state quarters had a deeper looking design on the obverse. The newer ones all look shallower to me. The "normal" quarter looks to be a state quarter and would demonstrate this fact.

Re: Old Banks Filled With Coins

Thanks for the post Daniel. Surprisingly enough I bought a cast iron bank not too long ago from a local auction. I paid less for the bank than it goes on ebay and didn't even know that there was coins in it. Not sure if the owner put them in there to try to increase bidding or what, but when it ratt...

I agree with Daniel. Even if it were a strike through it wouldn't really add a premium considering how small it is.

Pahl I've seen a lot of what you are showing on the 1944's. A lot of them that I look at have this present. Never connected it with being a trail die or like one though.

While it's probably unique it's not really collectible. It might not occur often in that exact spot and orientation plating bubbles are quite common so no value added.

Unfortunately nothing that I can make out. I loathe searching circulated earlier wheats for errors. Just way to frustrating with the amount of wear and hit marks on the coin. Maybe in hand it looks better :dunno

I also tried checking the population reports on Anacs for this one, but they are having trouble setting up my account. PCGS has grade...

I can try and get the pics tonight. Are you just looking for clearer pics of those areas or die markers? It will help me figure out what to look for and focus on. I dont have the cherrypicker for quarters so I dont know what the die markers are for the different die stages for this coin.

Sadly I had a few Presidential Rolls from the bank, but I'm pretty sure I got rid of them all for face value. They weren't selling over face at the time and being in college and poor didn't make it easy to hoard them

I almost immediately wrote this off as strike doubling, but I wanted to get a second opinion. In hand it appears to be very shelf like unlike strike doubling. No other elements seem to exhibit this doubling. I'd love to hear any opinions or thoughts on this one guys. http://i920.photobucket.com/albu...

Well I can't say I've found a coin that I care that much about wear. I don't really search BU coins, but I do use a small piece of a cereal box to set the coin on the platform and then it allows me to move it around easily.

I have one that has some potential, but I'm thinking it might just be a greased filled strike. If all the details are sharp and still no fg is that a good sign for the real deal?

Was this error from a overpolished die, or grease filled or were the initials completely left off the die somehow?

I think I see a slight version of the die mark on your coin. Just remember these have die stages and states, so they might not look exactly like the pictures. Your coin could be EDS (early die state) and Stage A,B,C or LDS (Late Die State) and a certain stage. The MDS is medium die state so they al...
