Re: 1988 P Dime

Welcome back and Nice images. I'm no pro but I'll try to help. I believe this is from a heavily used die. No doubled die. The secondary neck line is from age also or possibly mechanical doubling which is common and not valuable. All the heavy grooves and lines radiating towards the rim are die flow...

Re: I have a ?

We really need images because it is more likely that it is damage.
But it would need to look the same as the one in the Redbook to be the same variety.

Re: 1921 Peace Dollar

Congratulations on the coins. The coin isn't magnetic, is it? A better way to have done this would have been to fold the tape over the edge of the coin, not tape the coin to the cloth. Or hold the coin up to a mirror so that both sides are visible when you take a picture. That way we can help you o...

Re: Need sum help with this one 1997 DDOO/DDRV this coin has a lot going on

The images aren't clear enough but Daniel knows his stuff! The intersecting circular patterns on the obverse are impressions from other coins. Look to see if any lettering is backwards and depressed into the coin. A die would not make the devices (letters) backwards. I can't tell anything about the...

Re: 1942D linclon penny

I agree with Palh1. It is happening on many areas of the coin. A mirrored LIBERTY (which is upside down in relation to the motto you mention) is through Lincolns head and there also appears to be an RT on his shoulder as well. These clues indicate this happening multiple times to this coin. Thanks ...

Re: 1984 Silver colored penny

To me this looks like the outside copper cladding has been chemically removed after it was struck and left the mint. It seems to be missing finer details, especially on the reverse. PMD- Post Mint Damage- (AKA- PSD- Post Strike Damage) 1984 was the second year after the mint changed to copper clad ...

............. there is not one scrape or scratch that you can feel except for the two deep ones that are side by side........
The damage to the coin is very visual. Determination cannot not made by feel.
As Daniel said this damage could not be made during the minting process.

Re: Mated pair (full brokage).

I'm with Daniel. Hard to really see anything with the clarity of these images.
More than likely a cent stuck to the quarter with soda in the penny tray.
Many reasons this couldn't happen. One is the quarter would NOT fit into the cent collar die to be struck.
