I think you over-looked my first comments on this subject and images I sent. When you think you have ID'd any variety like a doubled die 99% of the time the die markers will be known and cataloged. If not then it is a knew variety that must be sent to a CONECA or recognized expert so it can be cata...

Daniel nailed it of course. Notice how the devices (words) on the top-most impression are reversed?
It wouldn't look like this if the coin was struck twice.

Are you referring to the E of UNITED?I believe that is just a plating blister.
Try pushing on the area with a toothpick and see if it moves or changes shape.

Thank you for the images. :thumbsup: They help a lot and are very interesting. Is the nickel in question a 1964. It definitely has circulation wear, with nicks and dings around the perimeter. Others here are much more knowledgeable than myself, so hopefully they will correct any errors in my reply....
