Re: Small planchet

RobC,
Please consider putting your question in a separate thread. Otherwise, but is easily missed.

Re: 1958-D Lincoln cents

Since these are in plastic rolls, you can assume that they have been looked at before by someone separating them by date and mint. Unless graded by a TPG, with a grade of MS-67 RD, or above, they will only be worth a few cents each. Most will never get this grade, so you'd be wasting a lot of money ...

The 'D' is filled due to a tiny break in the die where the center of the 'D' partially broke off. It's called a die chip and add no value to the coin as ...

Welcome!
Nor sure if the "shiny" area is raised, or just cleaner. Up-close it gets pretty blurry. If it is a dome-like indent, then its damage.

Re: FS-01-1955-101 LHC

My story reads a bit as if the coins went directly to the cigarette dealer. As you stated, they went to a bank first. Based on my research, I got a good deal, but not much less than recently recorded auction house sales. Tempted to take it to a dealer to send it in to PCGS. The current holder has so...

FS-01-1955-101 LHC

In 1955, 33,058,000 Lincoln Wheat Cents were made. On one night. On one pair of dies, 40,000 of those Wheat Cents would make history. The Mint worker didn't catch the problem until in the morning after all those coins were mixed together from all of the presses. They worked frantically to remove wha...
