Re: Need help with medal i dug up

It's a bronze Columbus Exposition Medal from 1893, they are a bit rare, but this one was made into a gift or love token. Reverse has been ground down. Of course, I don't know the size of your medal but this is what I see. It's not my image, it came from here for educational purposes http://www.histo...

Re: Civil War Tokens

The finish, strike and state of preservation places this in a better than R-2 category and is a nice all around token.

Re: 1970 S question

This is what is now called Push Doubling, formerly machine or strike doubling, and is when the die is a bit loose and during the strike it moves and scrapes or pushes the metal away from the letters, numbers and design. It can be a small or large area. It creates a flat and shelf like secondary.

Hard to tell on a group like this, would think they would sell for more single, but you never know.

I just mean with grading fees. I think as is and as a lot there would be some interest for some specialized collectors.

I have die progression of die clashes, but might not be from the same dies but came from the same roll.

Re: 10 different stages 1960 D die adjustment or grease filled dies

The thing is that the die was filled with grease so the design of the die was not changed in any way, so these can't be varieties. I am not saying you shouldn't send to ANACS and have them graded, but can't say the investment would be worth it either.

I think it is neat that you found them like this.

Re: State quarter- unclad coin?

Could you post images of both sides of the coin? Usually when a non-toned and uncirculated coin has a different surface appearance it can sometimes be improper annealing.
