AI coin grading would have thousands of already graded coins in a data base and eventually a baseline would slowly develop of each grade. So when a like coin is entered it would give it a grade and reject or regrade those that ...

The numbers are incuse and this mark isn't under the letters, it's in between the letters and this is a scratch. A couple other people posted this here in the past.

Post mint damaged, it might have had some struck through issues but the coin is too far worn.

What makes you think it could be a candidate for grading? Do you own or use a coin price guide? The coin is worth less than the fees for grading.

I don’t agree. We need the bad to know what good is but to educate ourselves so we don’t get involved in the bad. All of the pros and cons of this hobby show it’s a healthy hobby. For example, why is no one creating fake beanie babies? Because it lost its healthy market and value, so the more cons y...

Looks like a substance on your coin, acetone might remove it, but as we ask in our rule, we need images of the coin outside of the holder unless it's already professionally grade or its in government packing.

No way to really answer you questions since we didn’t see the coin before it was graded. We can’t determine exactly what is going on with the coin using images. Why not ask the dealer? He had it in that bin for a reason.

True view images are not an accurate description of a coin 80% of the time. Also, you can download larger images to share here. Your image here isn't large enough to be certain why PCGS thought it was questionable.

I will respond to this, but like Earle said, we only want one coin per topic. Thanks.
You didn't do anything wrong and we're looking at images. Maybe try to send them to another company or have someone examine in hand, they're nice coins, but some are questionably toned.

Re: PCGS Restoration Candidate? 1890-cc Morgan
We can tell you that, the restoration is a consultation service first, they determine if it can be conserved so this question cannot be answered here. It takes lots of education, experience and seeing a coin in hand for conservation.
