Re: What would this be considered
Hello ! Are they above the surface ? If they are, their probably just Linear Plating blisters and I also see other plating issues ( Bubbly spots near nose).

Re: 1899-S Cleaned unc or bu?
The pictures are bad but from what I see on the breast feathers it looks cleaned. This is just an opinion though others may disagree, Paul, Daniel, Earle?

Re: Cleaned or BU, A second 1899-S
I sort of like the coin but It's hard to tell from Pictures what a coin would grade . It does appear to have a somewhat of a cleaning at one time . I'm not sure it would even get a MS grade because of the nicks and tiny scratches never mind the cloudy appearance which your confusing with a PL surfac...

Re: Cleaned or BU, A second 1899-S
My opinion doesn't change, it's a loooong shot that this coin isn't cleaned. I am sure there's other opportunities to obtain this date without taking a risk of getting a cleaned coin you have to return.

Re: Cleaned or BU, A second 1899-S
So here's my take. You obviously have a question of whether the coin is cleaned. The better question from my perspective, is it 'representative' of a coin that fits the collection you're assembling? If not, then your reasoning for buying would seem to be more to do with whether it's some kind of und...

Re: 2021 D Morgan with metal reed strand in capsule
Just asking...
Would something like this make slabbing people enjoy putting a funky label on it? If the metal is attached to the coin, I would think some people out there would like to collect it as something special.

Re: 1982-D DDO or Fancy Machine Doubling
I agree, common machine doubling.
Keep in mind that many auction sites have sellers that use 'Shill Bidders'
or 'Additional Accounts' to drive up prices, and buyers such as these, do not have the education to know any better.

Re: 2012-P Jefferson Nickle Improper Annealing?
This is staining and/or toning. Not a mint error. Full steps is common on modern modified Jefferson nickels.

Got the results in from ANACS, "VAM-4 TAILBAR TOP 100 RIM BUMPS - CLEANED." I had a feeling it would get a details grade, I really wanted to verify the VAM and make sure the coin was real. I always wonder if certain raw coins I get off eBay might be counterfeit. It's for my personal colle...

The copper on a Copper-Zinc penny can be altered to look like a "Zinc Cent". I happen to own one myself.

I can't say what is going on here either, but usually when both sides are effects it's PMD. However, I am just guessing at this point.
