Post I guess you can teach an old dog new tricks
I found this site while learning about my new hobby. Too bad I didn't find it and read the guides before I purchased my Ebay roll "unsearched" wheat pennies having a 1909 coin exposed and the potential of it being the "rare one". I feel so dopey admitting I fell for this. I didn't even get the roll yet, but now at least I can stop frisking the mailman to see if he is hiding it. With my crappy vision, I couldn't have picked a harder hobby. But I truly appreciate those article on finding unsearched coins and I hope to learn a lot more from your members posts. It would be nice to start a collection and then pass it on to my son. Looks like I will need one of those magnafication lights soon so I can stop handing them to my wife asking "what the heck does that date say?" Hopefully some articles cover that. John

Welcome to the forum and glad my article helped you! I do have some advice on a magnifier. You can get them of ebay, amazon and JPs Corner. Look for a triplet loupe or jeweler's loupe, and not the cheap 2x or 5x, get a 10x.
