 Saying Hi -I just registered but I've been an occasional reader here and elsewhere. I've been saving coins since my first job at a gas station in 1970. It's amazing what kind of things I was able to snag from spare change back then. If only my older brother hadn't stole them all to pay for beer and wacky weed when he was in High School. I've collected nicer stuff later on when I was working at a real job. (Assistant Gas Pump Manager!) Just kidding. Anyway, I'm a serious but casual collector of coins I like, not really in for the trade or profit. I just enjoy the hobby during the down times in life - like now - just got back from living in Asia and before I go back to work I'm trying to sort some stuff out for the kids to get later on. Re: Saying Hi - Welcome to the forum! Interesting story about what you found in pocket change in the 70's. My dad used to go to the banks and get rolls of silver dollars in the 50's and 60's.
