NOTES:
No other United States coin series has realized so many design changes as the Seated Liberty Design. The series was designed by the likes of Gobrecht, and Sully and began with an relatively plain obverse without stars, arrows or the legend (In God We Trust) from 1837-1838. In 1838 stars where added to the reverse without drapery, and this continued until 1840, but from 1840-1853 the obverse featured stars, and drapery on the Seated Liberty design.

Starting in 1853 and ending in 1855 arrowheads where added to each side of the date, and from 1856-1860 the drapery was resumed on the obverse. The legend, In God We Trust, was added in 1860, and the obverse with legend and arrowheads at date where used until 1874. From 1875-1891 the obverse retained the legend, but the arrowheads where omitted from the obverse. This is Seated Liberty design in a nutshell, and for more information, consult the pictures and links provided to find and buy the coin.

The listed values are for the grade G4, except the proofs, because Seated Liberty Dimes are commonly found in this condition. Coins that are damaged, scratched or cleaned in any way will be less then values listed in price guides. Also, the below values are just examples of what the date has sold for, and not what a dealer would pay for the same date, mint or grade.
A good or G4 example of a Seated Liberty type obverse.
