Morgan Silver Dollar Coin Values

The value of a Morgan Dollar depends on how many of any given date and mint and how available it is currently, so you can't value most Morgan Dollars by their reported mintages. Morgan Dollars were often melted down so there numbers are lower than their mintages, and some dates and mints were melted more than others.

Also, most of the New Orlean Mint (O) and San Francisco Mint (S) were heavily circulated and are rarer in AU (Almost Uncirculated) and extremely rarer in MS (Mint State) compared to other dates and mints. All Carson City Mint (CC) are rare and bring a premium, some more than others, but they're all keepers.

A couple of other aspects of a Morgan Dollars value is if they're a variety, called a VAM, and the silver market. All Morgan Silver Dollars are affected by the current silver spot value, but the common date and low grade examples are most affected.
