1878-CC Morgan Silver Dollars:
The 1878-CC mintage includes few VAMS, and includes 4 in the Top 100: VAMs 6, 18, 11 and 24 respectively. VAMs 6 and 18 are referred to as Doubled Die Reverse or DDO; the leaves in the Liberty's head-dress, her ear and the stars are doubled, and VAM 6 will have the CC mint mark almost touches the wreath, where as VAM 18 does not.
VAM 11 is characterized by die polishing lines on the reverse, most notably on the left wing, VAM 24 is characterized by doubled leaves and blossoms, but not her ear, date or stars, but the reverse show a wide CC mint mark with a dot in the left C.
